Goutos Lines Check-In & Boarding

Arrival Time

Plan to arrive at the port at least 1 hour before departure. If you are traveling with a vehicle, bring it to the waiting area at least 1 hour in advance. Boarding closes 30 minutes before departure, so it’s best not to cut it too close!

eTickets and Web Check-In

As soon as your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive a PDF e-ticket by email, ready to download or print. You can also obtain your boarding pass by completing online check-in between 48 hours and 2 hours before departure—your pass will be sent to you directly by email.

Paper Tickets

Paper tickets can be issued, which you can get from our offices.

Vehicles on Board

Vehicles are welcome on Goutos Lines’ vessel, including bicycles, motorcycles, cars, campers, and trucks. Drivers are responsible for embarking and disembarking their vehicles, while passengers must exit the vehicle before embarkation. Vehicle loading order is determined by the local Port Authority. For vehicle prices, check during booking or reach out to our support team.

Alternative Fuel Vehicles (AFVs)

Special rules apply if you are traveling with an Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV):

  • AFVs must be accompanied by the driver—unaccompanied transport is not allowed.
  • Electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles must have less than 40% battery charge before boarding.
  • Vehicles using LPG or CNG must have fuel tanks filled to no more than 50% capacity.
  • Vehicles with damaged or questionable fuel or battery systems will not be allowed onboard.
  • Charging electric or hybrid vehicles on board is strictly prohibited.
  • Always inform the crew immediately if your vehicle shows any alarm or warning lights during the trip.

Required Documents

All passengers must show a valid ID or passport along with their booking confirmation when collecting boarding passes. If you qualify for a discount, make sure to bring the necessary documents to prove your eligibility. Vehicle passengers should also carry all required registration and insurance documents.

Extra Notes

If you decide to cancel your trip after boarding, you must notify the Purser’s Office and take all your luggage with you. Keep in mind that you might not be able to remove your vehicle once it is parked in the ship’s garage due to space limitations.

Goutos Lines Pet Policy

Pets are welcome aboard Goutos Lines vessels, and special arrangements are in place to make sure both you and your pet have a safe and pleasant trip. Whether you are traveling with a small pet or a larger companion, here’s what you need to know:

  • Large pets (over 10 kg) must stay in the vessel’s outdoor kennels located on the open passenger decks. They are not allowed inside enclosed passenger areas or in the vehicle garage.
  • Small pets (up to 10 kg) can accompany their owners inside the ship, but only in the designated “Pet Friendly Area” and only if transported in a secure pet carrier with the door tightly closed at all times. Pets are not allowed on passenger seats.
  • Pets outside a carrier must remain on open decks, always on a leash or harness, and wear a muzzle.
  • Service dogs, assistance dogs, therapy animals, and official working dogs (such as search and rescue or law enforcement dogs) are allowed in all public areas, both open and enclosed, provided they carry valid certification and are on a leash.
  • All pets must be accompanied at all times—unaccompanied pets will not be accepted for embarkation.
  • Pet owners are responsible for bringing their pet’s health booklet, vaccination records, and any required travel documents.
  • Pet owners must take full responsibility for their pet’s safety, hygiene, and behavior during the trip, including any damage or harm caused to third parties.

Tip: For your pet’s comfort, always bring along water, food, and anything they may need during the crossing. Remember that wild animals are not considered pets under Greek law and are not permitted on board.
