Arrival Time
Dover to Calais: Vehicles/Motorcycles: Arrive at least 60 minutes before departure. Foot Passengers: Arrive at least 90 minutes before departure.
Hull to Rotterdam: All Passengers: Check-in opens at 3:00 PM; arrive 90 minutes before departure.
Cairnryan to Larne: Passengers with vehicles: Check-in closes 30 minutes before departure. Foot passengers: Check-in closes 45 minutes before departure.
eTicket Options
eTickets are not needed. Simply present your booking number during embarkation.
Web Check-In
Web check-in is not supported nor needed. Passengers can board directly by presenting their booking number during embarkation.
Paper Ticket
No paper tickets are needed to board P&O Ferries vessels. Simply present your booking number during embarkation.

Use the number from your booking confirmation upon boarding.
Vehicles On Board
All vessels accommodate vehicles, including bicycles and motorcycles. For cars, campers, and trucks, check prices during booking or contact support.
Keep in mind that on the Hull – Rotterdam and Cairnryan – Larne routes, boarding is only possible if you’re travelling with a vehicle.

Passengers without a Vehicle
Sailing without a car? P&O Ferries welcomes foot passengers on the Dover to Calais route. Just hop aboard, relax, and enjoy the ride. For other routes like Hull to Rotterdam or Cairnryan to Larne, foot passenger travel isn’t available, so plan accordingly!
Transfer of an unaccompanied vehicle with P&O Ferries
P&O Ferries does not permit the transportation of unaccompanied vehicles on their passenger services. All vehicles must be accompanied by a driver during transit. If you need further clarification, please contact our support team.
P&O Ferries Pet Policy
P&O Ferries allows pets on board, but policies vary depending on the route.
- Dover to Calais: Dogs can travel in the Pet Lounge (£12 / €14 each way) or stay in vehicles. Cats and ferrets must remain in vehicles.
- Hull to Rotterdam: Dog-friendly cabins are available. If these are fully booked, pets must stay in air-conditioned kennels.
- Cairnryan to Larne: All pets must stay in vehicles during the crossing.
- General rules:
- Pets must have a microchip, a valid rabies vaccination, and either an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) or an EU Pet Passport.
- Assistance dogs travel for free and may access passenger areas.
- A pet ticket is required, please contact our support team for more information.

Loyalty Program
