Since launching its service in 1996, the company has become the primary operator on this vital inter-island route, offering reliable year-round sailings aboard its flagship vessel, the Lobo Marinho. Over more than two decades, Porto Santo Line has continued to enhance its service, upgrading its vessel and improving onboard facilities to meet the needs of both residents and visitors.

  • Foot passengers: arrive at the port at least 30 mins before departure.
  • Passengers with a vehicle: arrive at the port at least 60 mins before departure.

eTicket Options

Porto Santo Line does not offer the option to download eTickets.

Web Check-In

Web check-in is not supported.

Boarding Pass

You must retrieve your paper boarding pass at the port, directly at the company kiosk before departure. You won’t be able to onboard without it.

Vehicles on Board

The Lobo Marihno allows vehicles onboard. Up to 145 to be exact!

Accessible Travel for All

Porto Santo Line provides facilities for passengers with reduced mobility. The vessel includes an access elevator located on the stern ramp (car deck), which requires passengers to arrive at least one hour before departure. A crew member assists throughout the entire process, accompanying passengers in the elevator and helping them reach their seats. The ship also has a wheelchair adapted for use in the elevator and within the interior spaces. Accessible bathrooms and priority seating are available on Deck 6, and both boarding and disembarkation are supported by crew to ensure a safe and comfortable journey.

Passengers without a Vehicle

No car? No problem. You can travel with Porto Santo Line as a foot passenger and enjoy a relaxed crossing between Madeira and Porto Santo. Simply walk on board, choose a comfortable spot, and take in the ocean views as you sip a drink and settle into the journey. With the coastline unfolding at a gentle pace, it’s an easy and scenic way to move between the islands.

An unaccompanied vehicle cannot be transferred with Porto Santo Line. This service is not available. If you need further clarification, please contact our support team.

Porto Santo Line Pet Policy

Pets are welcome onboard of the Porto Santo Line vessel, but they won’t be able to travel alongside you. They will be placed safely in a dedicated space for them. To prepare your trip as best as possible and ensure they are comfortable, follow these instructions:

  • Your pet can remain in the dedicated area, in a kennel, or in your car if you travel with one.
  • If you have an assistance dog, please present the required documentation when onboarding so you furry friend can travel by your side.
  • Cats or dogs weighing less than 8kg must be transported in their own transport boxes (which are the responsibility of the guardian), preferably placed inside the kennel’s upper cages.
  • For other animals it is compulsory to use their own transport crates; – The kennel/cattery is ventilated, permanently lit and has fresh water; – Location and access: located in the garage, deck #4, mid-ship on the port side.

At the moment, Porto Santo Line doesn’t offer a loyalty program that functions here on Ferryscanner.

Porto Santo Line Luggage Allowance

Porto Santo Line’s luggage policy: each passenger may bring one piece of hand luggage, including handbags or laptop bags, with maximum dimensions of 56 x 45 x 25 cm. Any item that exceeds these limits must be treated as checked baggage and placed in the designated luggage carts on board.
