The Canaries
First, a quick reminder: Maspalomas Gay Pride takes place on the island of Gran Canaria, which, as its name suggests, lies in the Spanish archipelago of the Canaries, off the coast of Morocco. The weather here is pleasant all year round, which is why the second Maspalomas Pride takes place in November, during the winter months.
A little tip when booking your plane tickets: flights to Gran Canaria can be expensive due to this world-famous event. So check flights to the neighboring islands of Tenerife and Fuerteventura too! The islands are easily connected by ferry. That’s what smart travel is all about!

The town of Maspalomas
Just 40 minutes by public transport from the island’s airport, and around 1h30 from the port, it’s one of the island’s southernmost towns, often known for its mythical beach: Playa del Inglés.
With its roadside palm trees, large tourist hotels, white sandy coves and breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, Maspalomas attracts many travelers all year round.
So what? Where are the festivities taking place?
Let’s get down to business! The 2025 Winter Pride will take place, as it does every year, at the Centro Comercial Yumbo, right in the heart of Playa del Inglés, and nothing less than the world’s most renowned LGBTQ+ shopping mall!
PRIDE PARK
You’ll find stores, restaurants, bars and stalls dedicated to the queer collective. And the central Yumbo square will be home to PRIDE PARK, the main stage for the 6-night festivities.
Canarian drag (Perseo comes to mind), theatrical performances, pop and house music… all free of charge!

The VIP area, at the front of the main stage, has its own toilet and bar. You can access it by purchasing access to the VIP Skylounge.

5 perfect beaches for a break

The Maspalomas dunes are one of the island’s key tourist attractions and lead to a heavenly beach. Site: iStock.
Giving it your all on the dance floor, taking part in the big parade or diving into a foam pool, it’s exhilarating! But if you’re planning to experience the Maspalomas 2025 gay pride in its entirety from November 10 to 16, perhaps you’d also like to take a little time away from the crowds, and make the most of your experience on Gran Canaria to relax in the shade of the palm trees, on a beautiful beach?
So we’ve put together a small selection of beaches for you to relax on between the big events in Maspalomas. And don’t forget your sun cream… Even in winter!
Playa de Güigüi
A secluded black-sand beach, this cove facing an endless sea is one of Gran Canaria’s hidden gems. To reach it, you’ll have to set off on foot from Tasartico, a small village about an hour’s drive from Maspalomas. It is not, however, a walk to be taken lightly. To reach the beach, you’ll have to go up a mountain path devoid of trees. So remember to bring water and a good hat.
Güiguï is one of those beaches that rewards you for daring to make the epic journey to get there. Departing from Tasartico, it will take you around 2 hours at a good pace to reach this little corner of paradise. Be careful, though, there’s little network once you’ve reached the beach.
Playa Taurito
Accessible by bus from Maspalomas, this little beach spot is an easy escape from the hustle and bustle of the festivities for a relaxing day at a small seaside resort. The volcanic-sand cove offers spectacular views from the cafés, which are much quieter than those in Maspalomas!
Playa Taurito is the perfect compromise between nature and a less crowded tourist area. And once the evening arrives, it’s all the easier to get back to the electric atmosphere of Winter Pride!
Montaña Arena nudist beach
And au naturel, please! Situated at the foot of a fine sand dune about 30 minutes by bus from the center of Maspalomas, Montaña Arena beach is the perfect place to unwind away from the crowds without straying too far from the hotspot of the festivities. This completely natural cove has no facilities whatsoever. So don’t forget a drink and sun protection. Bathing suit optional! A gay pride Maspalomas 2025 you won’t forget!
Like many nudist beaches, you’ll have to walk for a while to reach it. Remember to take good shoes to reach the cove from the bus stop.
Playa de Veneguera
Between pebbles and fine sand, this secluded beach far from the tourist crowds offers a breathtaking panorama. Flanked by stone cliffs, it gives the impression of having been forged naturally to welcome the curious.
You can get there after a short walk along a steep path. Unfortunately, no bus will drop you off near the hiking trail. So this beach is best reserved for travelers with cars.
Playa Pasito Blanco
A small white-sand beach renowned for its simplicity and natural beauty, Playa Pasito Blanco is just half an hour by bus from the center of Maspalomas. Here you’ll find a number of facilities and restaurants.
It’s also an excellent swimming spot, with a rock-free beach. Not far away is a small marina, and from the beach you’re sure to spot a few sailboats lounging on the surface in the gentle breeze.
Other destinations in the Canaries

The beauty of an archipelago is that each island offers a different identity and experience. From Gran Canaria, you can easily reach other islands by ferry! On a 6-day pride tour, why not take the opportunity to spend a day or two on a neighboring island to discover its special features?
Tenerife

The small village of Masca, perched in the tropical heights of Tenerife, offers spectacular views of the sea more than 2,500 m below. Website: iStock.
Located to the west of Gran Canaria, the island of Tenerife seems to be reaching out to its big sister. Wild and endearing, Tenerife often gives the impression of having its own microclimate and offers a diversity of magnificent landscapes. Beach, mountain, desert, rainforest… It’s the island of all pleasures.
If you’ve rented a car in Gran Canaria, don’t hesitate to head for the heights of Teide, the highest peak in the Canaries, or to discover the astonishing journey of Masca, perched on a rock in the middle of vegetation worthy of the most beautiful tropical destinations!
How do I get to Tenerife from Gran Canaria?
Several ferries depart daily from the ports of Las Palmas or Agaete for Santa Cruz, Tenerife. You’ll be able to take a car if you have one, and the journey between the two islands takes just one or two hours, depending on weather conditions and your port of departure.
Can I travel to Tenerife from Gran Canaria for a day?
Yes, a day’s round trip between the two islands is perfectly feasible if you’ve rented a car ! It will take you just over an hour to reach your port of departure from Maspalomas, and less than two hours on the ferry.
The perfect opportunity to take a break between two pride events and go on an adventure for a day!

Fuerteventura

Fuerteventura: stretches of sand as far as the eye can see. Diverse and varied landscapes. A culture all its own. Website: iStock.
Fuerteventura lies to the east of Gran Canaria. It is known as one of the wildest islands in the Canaries, with large volcanic plateaus and breathtaking isolated beaches.
Fuerteventura is an island of contrasts, with pristine sandy beaches, rugged volcanic rock regions and banana-growing areas.
The island is also famous for its windsurfing spots !
How do I get to Fuerteventura from Gran Canaria?
Ferries depart daily from the port of Las Palmas for the ports of Rosario and Morro Jable. The journey takes between 2 and 6 hours, depending on the company and port of arrival, but you’ll be able to relax on the boat by booking a cabin if you feel like it! If you have rented a car in Gran Canaria, you can also take one on board.
Can I travel to Fuerteventura from Gran Canaria for a day?
Unfortunately, making the round trip in a day is not recommended. The boat trip takes between 5 and 6 hours, which won’t leave you much time to discover all the wonders Fuerteventura has to offer.
Instead, we recommend that you take a few days after the Maspalomas 2025 gay pride festivities to do a little sightseeing on the island of Fuerteventura, and why not, fly there to come back! Yes, it’s often possible to rent a car at one airport, say Gran Canaria, and drop it off at another, say Fuerteventura!

Maspalomas 2025, a gay pride between city bustle and natural calm

During the 11 days of festivities, why not take a moment to discover the paradisiacal beaches of Gran Canaria, or take a trip to one of the neighboring islands?
With Ferryscanner, sail from one island to the next and discover this unusual archipelago that vibrates with queer culture and welcomes members of the collective from all over the world every year.
