Our catamaran trip from Zadar to Silba
On Sunday at 8:45 am we boarded the modern TP Line catamaran Kalelarga in Zadar’s city harbor. On the catamaran, we were greeted by comfortable seats and much-needed air conditioning. Along with the comfortable seats and air conditioning, we had a quick drink and a bite to eat at the bar during the trip. The trip was peaceful and relaxing, and we enjoyed the view of the sea waves.

We had to stop briefly at the port of Premuda, which is surrounded by turquoise sea, to reach Silba. After 1 hour and 45 minutes, it was time for us to disembark on Silba. Silba is one of the Croatian islands without cars, so instead of the noise of cars, you can hear crickets and the sound of waves at every turn.
It’s small enough, at 15 square kilometers, that you can explore it on foot. That’s what we did. Our first stop was the Toreta tower, built by sailor Petar Marinić in the 18th century as a symbol of his unrequited love. We climbed to the top of the tower, which offers a beautiful view of the island and the sea.

Then we headed through the narrow streets to the most beautiful beach on the island – Šotorišće. Although the shore is covered with rocks and stones, the seabed is filled with sand. The beach is ideal for kids, but also for exploring the underwater world. During the summer months, there is also a bar open on the beach.

Since Silba is very small, its “center” consists of 2-3 catering establishments. We caught our eye at a coffee bar that serves ice cream sundaes. After our adventure on the island, we headed back to the port in Silba.
Along with the “center” of Silba, the port in Silba is where the most people gather. People sit in cafes, enjoying their coffee with a view of the waves. Our TP Line catamaran arrived on the waves and took us back to Zadar, which ended our adventure.
What awaits you on Premuda and Olib?
In addition to Silba, you can sail to Premuda and Olib by TP Line catamaran. Premuda is a paradise for diving, and its cave “Cathedral” is especially popular. In addition, the seabed around Premuda is rich in shipwrecks. There is no mass tourism on Premuda, the island is ideal for a peaceful vacation and enjoyment of natural beauty.
Olib is located a little further from Premuda and Silba, more than a 2-hour ride by TP Line catamaran from Zadar. Like Silba, Olib is one of the Croatian islands where there are no cars. On Olib you will be greeted by sandy beaches with turquoise waters, the most famous of which is Slatinica. Sandy beaches with shallow waters on Olib are a great option for a holiday with children.
