Grimaldi Lines Check-In & Boarding
Arrival Time
If you’re traveling within Italy, arrive at least 1 hour before departure. For trips to Schengen countries, aim for 2 hours in advance. Heading to Tunisia or another non-Schengen destination? Plan to be there at least 3 hours early to complete check-in without much fuss.

Transfer of an unaccompanied vehicle with Grimaldi Lines
An unaccompanied vehicle cannot be transferred with Grimaldi Lines. If you need further clarification, please contact our support team.
Grimaldi Lines Pet Policy
Pets are welcome aboard Grimaldi Lines, but you will need to include them when booking, for that please inform our customer support team. Whether you are traveling with a dog, cat, or ferret, make sure your pet has a European pet passport, valid vaccinations, and all required health certificates. Need help adding your pet? Just reach out to our support team and we will assist you.
- Your pet can travel in a dedicated kennel or stay with you in a pet-friendly cabin (requires the pet-in-cabin service).
- Pets are allowed on the outdoor decks when leashed and muzzled, but are not permitted in common lounges, restaurants, or standard cabins.
- Guide dogs travel free of charge and may stay with their owners at all times.
- For Tunisia routes, certain breeds (including Pit Bulls and Rottweilers) are not allowed on board.
You are responsible for your pet’s food, hygiene, and comfort during the trip.

Grimaldi Lines Luggage Allowance
Each passenger is entitled to bring one piece of hand luggage free of charge, as long as it fits within 56 x 45 x 25 cm. This applies whether you are traveling with a cabin, seat, or deck ticket. On top of that, you can carry a small personal item, like a handbag or backpack, at no extra cost.
If you need to bring more, you can carry up to 30 kg of checked luggage, as long as you can handle it without assistance. For trips to or from Tunisia, you can even pre-book extra luggage space during booking at a discounted rate.
Remember, all luggage limits and any extra fees are clearly shown when you book, so you will know exactly what to expect before you travel. Pack smart, keep your essentials with you, and enjoy the ferry trip!
