Tirrenia Check-In & Boarding
Arrival Time
For trips from Italian ports to other destinations, passengers should arrive at least 90 minutes before departure. If you are departing from the Port of Genoa, plan to be there at least 120 minutes in advance.
For departures from overseas ports heading to Italian ports, passengers without a vehicle should arrive at least one hour before departure, while those traveling with a vehicle should be there at least 90 minutes before the scheduled time.

Transfer of an unaccompanied vehicle with Tirrenia
An unaccompanied vehicle cannot be transferred with Tirrenia. If you need further clarification, please contact our support team.
Tirrenia Pet Policy
Pets are welcome on Tirrenia ships, but make sure to follow a few simple guidelines for a comfortable trip:
- Pets need a transport ticket, a rabies vaccination if required, and a valid vaccination record.
- Dogs are welcome on outdoor decks and in public spaces but are not allowed in common areas or halls.
- Pet-friendly cabins are available and come with linoleum flooring, odor-control mats, and space for up to three pets. Get in touch with our customer support team to book with your pet.
- Remember to bring a vaccination certificate, food, bowls, a muzzle, a leash, and waste bags for your pet.
- Pets must always be on a leash, should never be left unattended, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after them.
Loyalty Program
Tirrenia currently doesn’t offer a loyalty program or member card. If you believe otherwise, let us know! Our support team will gladly update any missing info. Think of it as your good deed for the day.
Tirrenia Luggage Allowance
On Tirrenia’s ships, there are no limits to the weight and dimensions of luggage. If you are traveling with your car, you can leave your luggage inside; if you are traveling on foot always take your luggage with you. In this case we recommend booking a cabin to make the crossing more comfortable.
